Knitwear Industry:

Tirupur can deliver customized samples in less than12 hours; half a million pieces in a matter of days. 56% of India's total knitwear exports come from Tirupur. Tirupur's gain stem from its performance in technology and the quality of its macro economic environment. It also derives much of its ascent from improved perception of its public service. Buyers from 35 countries frequently visits Tirupur regularly.  No doubt, the Export Import Policy of 2002-07 makes laudable tribute to Tirupur for its contribution to the export efforts and calls it a 'Town of Export Excellence' The rich availability of Raw materials, being in close proximity to Coimbatore which is a major centre of cotton spinning industry in the Country makes Tirupur being able to access its basic raw materials quickly and as and when required; the strong entrepreneurial Úlan and personalized management contributes to efficient management of negotiations and direct control of operations causing cost effective competitiveness of the Industry.

Garment Industry:

There is need to strict implementation of present law. The government has moved a bill to amend the Industrial Employment (Standing Orders) Act, 1946 that will lay down new rules of employment, re-employment of apprentices, probationers, temporary and casual workers. The word privacy doesn't exist here as only four toilets are available for these girls and they have to share and wait for their turn. Even worse a warden always stands as a jailer outside their cage.  The present legal system has failed to improve their condition due to non implementation of law.  The workers in these industries are not tasting the growth because of overexploitation by employers.

The employer doesn't even provide the air-conditioner for their rooms which was promised to them before joining. Needless to say that the conditions are far worse than in any zoo. They are spending a very miserable life. They are living in a cage called room provided by the employer. Somewhere around 50 to 60 girls are placed in a single room, where they have to spend their hours after work. Law can be made easily. When there is effective implementation, then only people will be benefited by the law.The new bill will force employers to have only a fixed percentage of apprentices in its workforce.
